Call Your Congressman: Stop the Gutting of the ADA

The US Congress is scheduled to vote on HR 620, ADA Education and Reform Act of 2017, tomorrow, Wednesday, February 14th. As a valentine for citizens with disabilities, the US House of Representatives will vote a bill that essentially tells business that they need not install accommodations for persons with disabilities unless and until a citizen initiates a lengthy process to force them to do so. The ACLU has posted a good discussion of the myths and realities of this bill (https://www.aclu.org/other/hr-620-myths-and-truths-about-ada-education-and-reform-act).

Please call or write your Representative (Peter DeFazio for most of us: 541-465-6732, Eugene office; 202-225-6416, Capitol (DC) office) and urge opposition to this bill.
