SB 978, the “omnibus” gun safety measure before the legislature this year, was voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee with a “do pass” recommendation, albeit on a straight party vote. Instead of going to the floor of the Senate for a vote, the measure was sent to the Senate Rules Committee where it is currently languishing. Ceasefire Oregon has asked our supporters to contact their legislators to tell them to support SB 978. …
At this point, we need constant pushing on Senators Courtney, Burdick, and Prozanski to make sure this bill is moved out of committee.
