What we’ve been up to…
On August 9th, members of Oregon State Now were invited to attend the signing of the Paid Family and Medical Leave bill into law by Gov. Kate Brown. It was a very exciting moment to be part of and witness this important historic event that will benefit working women and families throughout Oregon. After years of hard work with the Time to Care coalition, we now have the most progressive Paid Family and Medical Leave program in the country!

Several members of SWV Now helped table for NARAL Pro Choice at the August Pride Event in Alton Baker Park. It was a fabulous afternoon with many discussions supporting the urgent need to protect women’s rights to safe and legal abortion. In addition, many people signed postcards to be sent to their state legislators in support of protecting this right.
